Shaykh ʿUbayd’s al-Jābirī’s (حفظه الله) Pre-Conference Reminder for the Masjid Al-Wahyain MN 2018 Summer Conference

ShaykhʿUbayd al-Jābirī:“In the name of Allāh the Most Merciful, Bestower of Mercy. From ʿUbayd the son of ʿAbdullāh, son of Sulaymān al-Ḥamdānī, al-Jābirī to our children at Masjid al-Waḥyain. May the greetings of peace and blessings of Allāh be upon all of you. I hereby invite all of you, my dear brothers, to the educational seminar that will be attended by our two brothers – Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥusain al-Ṣūmālī and Abū Muḥammad Riḍwān al-Maghribī; for certainly, attending educational seminars involves great benefits.

And the title of the seminar truly encourages participation, because it deals with the matter of what follows after Ramaḍān. We are upon the creed of the people of the Sunnah that Ramaḍhān is the most distinguished of the months. And how could it not be the case when Allāh the Glorified and Exalted sent down the noblest scripture to the noblest messenger [in this month]. This scripture is the Qurʾān and His Messenger through whom Allāh concluded His scriptures and prophet hood is Muḥammad ().

I recall that one of the people of knowledge; it was said to him that there are people who perform actions during Ramaḍān wherein after Ramaḍān ends, they abandon [those actions performed during Ramaḍān]. He responded: “How evil a people! Do they only know Allāh during Ramaḍān?!”

The Muslim is upon the worship of Allāh the Glorified and Exalted throughout his entire life; from the time he reaches puberty until death. And in the Noble Book [we read]:“Worship your Lord until certainty comes to you.” [Sūrah al-Ḥajar 15: 99] And the certainty mentioned in this verse is death.

And also from the benefits of educational seminars is that they are attended by male and female students. Men [in attendance] did not previously know the other men and the women [in attendance] did not previously know the other women. But by attending these educational seminars, the Muslims come to know one another.

And in the authentic narration: “The souls are like regimented soldiers; so those who are familiar from amongst them will attract [one another] and those who are unfamiliar from amongst them will repel [one another].”

May Allāh grant everyone success to what He loves and is pleased with, and may He keep us and you from whatever displeases or angers Him. May the greetings of peace and blessings of Allāh be upon all of you.

This speech was dictated after Ishāʾ prayer on Tuesday the fifth of Shawwāl 1439H which corresponds with June 20th 2018. And may the greetings of peace and blessings of Allāh be upon all of you.”
